Objective
To manage and design an engaging and meaningful annual report for a local non-profit organization in the midst of a re-brand.
Solution
The Community Foundations of Oakville, or "The CFO" is a financial management organization enabling businesses and individuals tohold perpetual endowments in their name.
The organization is currently embarking on a complete rebrand as is taking on the identity of it's national cousin, the Community Foundations of Canada. The idea is to gain further exposure by working as one unit as well as providing endowment holders real results of what they contributions have done.
Picturing the Community – With this in mind, the 2008 annual report focused primarily on the many programs that the organization supports. Photography supplied was the primary hero honoring local initiatives and those that run them. A circle was employed throughout as a design element to reinforce the sense of community which in its form added a playful element to the piece.
Simple Information – Financial information, Donor listings, Grant distribution and all articles were designed with a liberal application of space. There is a lot to read here and making room for each section of information is important so the reader can focus on one section at a time.
Environmentally sound – as part of CFO's (and Eyerocket's) mandate, chosing an environmental means by which to produce the annual is very important. It was agreed early on that there would be a minimum produced for the AGM as well as necessary collateral on hand. Next to that, we worked with the printer to establish the right stock. We used Rolland Environmental 100 Text (100% post-consumer stock).
Client Feedback
"We were thrilled to work with Eyerocket Design on the development of our Annual Report. Roger and Doug brought a fresh new perspective and great creative ideas – while always being aware and respectful of our mission and message. We have had nothing but fantastic feedback from our foundation “family” as well as others in the community about the look and feel of the Annual Report. I’m extremely proud to hand this out to people and have it represent our organization."
